I have to admit to being pretty proud of the organizations to which I have contributed - and the ways in which they have recognized my work.
I could post my certificates here, but I think it'd look a little gaudy. And I'd have to take them off my bathroom mirror.
What does it really mean?I beleive that being recognized for our accomplishments is an important element in how we work. No, it doesn't make up for poor compensation, but it makes a huge difference in how motivated we are to excel. Here are a few of the things I've been recognized for in my career.
- Silver Award at Bank of America for outstanding leadership and dedication in the Loan Modification Inline QA re-build.
- Recipient of the US Congressional Medal of Distinction for outstanding leadership in business and contributions to the local economy.
- Inducted in January 2008 into the Ronald Reagan Congressional Commission for “outstanding dedication and commitment towards tax reform for small business.”
- Nominated and selected as one of three finalists for the 2007 Blue Diamond/Project Management Institute Project of the Year for the application and client adoption of superior project management principles.
- Recognized as the 2006 North Carolina Businessman of the Year by the Congressional Business Advisory Council for service to the state and nation on the advancement of small business initiatives.
- Appointed chairman of the City Protective Services PCAC Subcommittee to lead privatization and competition initiatives and recommendations for the City of Charlotte’s Police and Fire Department services.
- Rated in the top 1% among over 100,000 three years in a row, Performance rated "Far Exceeds Expectations".
- Received a Performance Award for taking the lead on the Development, Integration & Test Environment communications and leading the SCWR Tiger Team for Quality Management and project library management.
- Developed the Launch PAD (Project Assessment Dashboard), an innovative and cross-stakeholder project measurement and tracking tool for providing solution-based visibility to planning and exception reporting.
- Received a Performance Award for developing the Release Test Management Concept of Operations including concepts, engineering, graphic design, and strategies all on time and with thorough clarity.
- Received a Special Award for re-messaging ITIL communications and excelling on the project Tiger Team with web site development and online content management and developing an automated Requirements Traceability Matrix. Also assisted in the standup of the Program Management & Release Readiness Office.
- Received a Special Award for performing complex web site development and management while executing web site development that ensured compliance for Intranet standardization and certification. Selected by senior executives to lead the Business Systems Development Directorate (BSD) Intranet standardization project.
- Received a Team Award as recognition for broadening the scope of the contract to include the management of multiple releases, establishing the office as a permanent entity, and providing critical customer service.
- Awarded the Task Achievement Program (TAP), award as a "Fee Score Key Performer" for contributing to increased award fee scores for my project; when the overall contract went from 98% to 93%, my project went from 97.3 to 98 and I was recognized by the client as a critical player to their success.
- Received a Team Award for the critical project management of agency-wide activities including Taxpayer Information File Centralization, Submission Processing Consolidation, and Advance Child Tax Credit projects.
- Earned two out-of-cycle promotions in recognition of superior contributions, professional service and consistent customer-oriented enthusiasm. Received a Performance Award for directing a government-based team in the development, implementation and enforcement of standards for Intranet site design and development for IRS Business Systems Development.
